Grab your chairs or blankets and come out to Historic Stonewall in downtown Gallatin to hear live music!
Join us for a magical evening at Historic Stonewall to celebrate the release of A Century of Pickin’, a heartfelt tribute album by local bluegrass band The Luggnutts honoring Sumner County’s own Possum Hunters.
In 1925, Dr. Humphrey Bate and His Possum Hunters became the first string band to perform on the Grand Ole Opry, laying the foundation for American string band music. Now, 100 years later—and in celebration of both the Possum Hunters’ and the Opry’s centennial, as well as the Sumner County Museum’s 50th anniversary—we've partnered with Volunteer State Community College to produce this special album. A Century of Pickin’ features reimagined Possum Hunters songs performed by The Luggnutts, who include descendants of the original band members.

Learn more about their mission below:
Wild Ones Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is located in Portland, Tennessee. Founded in 2024, we are dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of orphaned and injured opossums and squirrels.
Our mission extends beyond rescue — we are deeply passionate about educating the public on native wildlife and how to respond when they encounter an animal in need.
One of our most beloved team members is Crash, our educational outreach opossum. Crash visits schools, libraries, and community organizations to help people understand just how vital opossums are to our environment.
At Wild Ones, we believe that the more people learn about these incredible animals, the more they will respect and protect their essential role in nature.
