Brick from Randy's Record Shop (SHIPPED)

$40.00

These bricks are from Randy’s Record Shop (which stood on the corner of N. Water Ave. and E. Franklin St. in Gallatin).

Randy Wood arrived in Gallatin after WWII and opened a business repairing radios. He began selling records by mail order with late night radio ads on WLAC. Evening hours widened the frequency area of that station and ads were heard all over the south. The mail order 45 RPM record business was an incredible success, selling more than 500,000 records per year by 1950. Randy than began recording artists such as Pat Boone, Lawrence Welk and Gallatin’s own Johnny Maddox on his Dot Record Label. These legends walked the halls of this building, and you can now own a brick from walls.
